GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi said the unified Gulf tourist visa "will be launched soon", speaking at the Security and History Dialogue 2026 in Riyadh on 6 September 2026.

The visa will let visitors travel across all six member states — Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain — on one visa. No launch date, fee, validity period or application procedure has been announced yet; until then visitors must follow each country's own entry rules.

GCC interior ministers discussed implementation in Muscat in November 2023, after which the Supreme Council approved moving ahead, and technical teams in the six states have continued their work.

A single visa is expected to boost intra-Gulf tourism and road trips, and with them demand for temporary-admission documents and international driving permits.
