The Confederation was founded in Cairo when its constituent general assembly ratified the founding instrument. Its first board was elected, and the Council of Arab Economic Unity then accredited it by Decision 2033/S119 among the specialised Arab federations operating within the Council.
Seven institutions from six countries signed the founding instrument in Cairo and adopted the statute.
At its 119th ordinary session in Cairo, the Council of Arab Economic Unity accredited the Confederation of Arab Automobile Clubs as a specialised Arab federation operating within the Council, inside the League of Arab States system.
