Egypt's Cabinet Media Centre announced that the country received 12.7 million tourists between January and August 2026, up from 12.2 million in the same period of 2025.

Tourism revenue rose to $12 billion from $11.8 billion, and 185 hotels with 46,000 rooms are under construction in 2026, compared with 143 hotels and 33,900 rooms in 2025.

The World Travel & Tourism Council expects the sector to grow 3% in 2026, while the IMF projects tourism revenue rising from $19.9 billion in FY 2025/26 to $29.8 billion by FY 2030/31.
