Dubai welcomes 6.97 million international visitors in eight months; August best month since February

Dubai received 6.97 million international visitors between January and August 2026, with August alone bringing 869,000 visitors — the highest monthly figure since February, according to the Government of Dubai Media Office.

Hotel occupancy reached 66% in August, with about 149,000 hotel rooms available at month-end and 21.61 million room nights booked over the eight months.

GCC countries were the third-largest source market at 16%, after Western Europe (20%) and South Asia (17%).

Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said the results reflect the joint efforts of local and international partners in tourism and hospitality.
