Oman's Dhofar khareef (monsoon) season drew 1,116,051 visitors between 21 June and 31 August 2026, 8.6% more than the same period of 2025, according to preliminary figures from the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

831,384 visitors arrived through land borders (+7.6%) against 284,667 by air — a sign of how important road travel between Gulf states is during the season.

Omanis made up 73.2% of visitors (816,719), followed by GCC nationals (183,861) and other nationalities (115,471). August alone accounted for 643,602 visitors.
